BACKSTAGE MOMS
We ask that two Mom volunteer from each Creative Movement and Kinder Class – one Mom from each Level 1, 2, and 3 class - to stay with the dancers during the recital. A friend or family member who is 18 years or older can also be a Backstage Mom. For dancers who are in more than 2 dances, it may be helpful to have an assistant backstage (just for them) to help with quick costume changes. For the younger dancers, it's comforting to have a consistent parental / adult presence during the event. For the studio, it's help that we couldn't do without!! As a Backstage Mom, you will not have to pay for a ticket for the recital. You will be able to watch your child's performance in the audience (we'll have a special Backstage Mom's seating area), and then will stay with the class backstage for the rest of the recital. We hate to exclude the Dads, but we think it's best to keep it "just girls" for reasons such as costume changes, make-up, etc. Thank you so much, and please let Lauren know if you are interested in helping!
- Audience may enter and exit the theater between performances ONLY - not during.
- No flash photography or video taping will be allowed at the recital.
- Please turn off all cellular phones & beepers during the performance.
- Everyone must have a ticket (with the exception of the dancers, "Backstage Moms" and infants that will be sitting on an adult's lap). Anyone without a ticket will not be permitted to enter.
- No food or drink inside the theater.
REHEARSING AT HOME
The following will lead to a LESS STRESSFUL & MORE ENJOYABLE recital for your child!
- If your dancer would like a copy of their recital music, please provide Lauren with a blank CD with students name and class time written on it. Place these CDs in the marked drop off box in the lobby. CD's will be returned the following week to the dancer.
- It is helpful for Creative Movement and Kinder students to know their music when they dance. Please encourage them to "rehearse"
- It's also very helpful for older students (Levels 1 -3) to have a video recording of their dance routine. Instructors do not mind parents coming into the studio to record their child's routine. We strongly encourage that students do "routine run throughs" at home a few times a week.
