At Cincy Dance Studio we strive to bring our dancers the latest in choreography and technique and pride ourselves on creating a fun, positive environment for our dancers to learn. All of our instructors have worked in the industry for years, received degrees in dance, and continue to further their education by attending workshops and seminars throughout the county.
CINCY DANCE STUDIO – INSTRUCTORS:
Lauren Andrews – Owner / Instructor
Lauren began her dance training at the age of 3, where she studied at top studios in Richmond, VA. Ever since then she dreamed about sharing her passion for dance with others. Lauren was inducted into the Richmond Ballet during Fall of 1996, making her the youngest member to receive the honor. Shortly after studying ballet, Lauren begin to make a name for herself on the competition circuit winning many ballet, lyrical, tap and jazz solo awards. Lauren was selected to be a member of the 2001 Dance Caravan Kids, traveling the nation performing and assisting choreographers in workshops. Also during that summer Lauren took the main stage in Walt Disney World to perform a variety of dance forms. Lauren has had the pleasure of choreographing for multiple studios, recording artists, and High School competition teams in Ohio, Kentucky and the Carolina’s. Entering her 12th years as owner and instructor at Cincy Dance, Lauren has won multiple awards in creating many top scores and first overall dances in the categories of Tap, Jazz, Lyrical & Hip Hop. In 2018 she was awarded the Top Teacher award from StarSystems! Lauren has also received many Specialty Awards at various competitions for choreography, costume, and entertainment. Lauren continues her dance education by attending workshops and taking class from world renown choreographers. She always brings fresh ideas and cutting edge choreography back to the studio, while focusing on dance technique. Her upbeat personality and creative energy helps motivate students in each class to achieve their full potential.
Erika Cane – Instructor
Since her late start in her dance career at the age of fourteen, Erika has trained rigorously in styles of hip hop, jazz, pom, lyrical and ballet at multiple studios in Chicago, where she is originally from. She taught classes at various studios there throughout high school and choreographed for nationally ranked all-star teams, helping them earn first place titles in the hip hop division before moving to Cincinnati. While Erika still works with high school dance teams in Chicago, she has also spent her time here as a previous instructor for the Dance Realm, teaching workshop classes for studios like Dance Expressions, and is now a proud instructor at Cincy Dance. Erika is going into her fourth and final season as a member of the University of Cincinnati Dance Team. During her time with the program she and her team have won both a 1st place national championship title in 2017 and a 1st place world championship title in 2016. She also maintains her training by attending conventions like Monsters of Hip Hop, Velocity, Radix and Nuvo as often as possible, as she has a passion for growing in style and learning new teaching methods from world recognized choreographers. Erika is adamant about helping all dancers obtain equal opportunity to learn and push themselves. She believes in her students, no matter how vast or little their experience is, and will do anything to help them achieve their goals. With a massive focus on teaching self motivation, mental toughness and the value of earning success, she teaches classes where students can feel proud of themselves, encourage one another and fall in love with the art that is dance.
Arin Gile – Instructor
Arin’s love for dance began at the age of 3. She is an accomplished dancer and teacher in the Cincinnati area and has trained in multiple styles, such as, ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. Arin began her teaching career in 2008 at Cincy Dance Studio, LLC. She then attended the University of Kentucky where she served as Alpha Delta Pi’s Art Director, responsible for costumes, props and designs for the organizations’ performances. Arin then returned to Cincinnati to further her education and continue teaching. Arin recently received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. She now works as a Mental Health Specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and teaches dance at multiple studios in Cincinnati. Arin also teaches for non-profit organizations in the area. In the summer of 2016, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati contracted Arin to begin a summer dance program. She is also teaching for the Cincinnati Academy of Preforming Arts. Arin uses her education in counseling to teach dance by choosing age appropriate activities that will demonstrate proper technique in multiple styles of dance. As one of the original dancers at Cincy Dance Studio, LLC, Arin is thrilled to contribute to the studios’ growth while sharing her love for dance in a creative and fun way for her students!
Lisa Hardwicke – Instructor
Lisa grew up on Long Island, New York and moved to Charlotte, NC in 2017. She and her fiance moved to Cincinnati, OH this summer. Lisa grew up watching her older sisters in dance classes and started herself at the age of 4. She studied in all genres of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and acro. She joined the dance competition team at age 7, and to the age of 18 she competed all across the United States while winning numerous national championships with her team. At age 16, she was selected, along with a few of her teammates, from Showstoppers Dance Competition to represent the United States in dance in Beijing, China. She has taught and worked in the dance studio she grew up in on Long Island for 11 years and in Charlotte for the past 2 years. Her absolute favorite style of dance is tap. When she is not teaching dance, she is a 5th grade teacher at CPS. Lisa is excited to join the Cincy Dance Academy team and to make it her dance home away from home!
Mollie Sadler – Instructor
Mollie has been dancing since the age of 5 and continues to share her passion for dance through teaching. She has trained for 20 years in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap, musical theater, hip hop and pom. Mollie competed at a regional, state and national level in a variety of styles, routines and solos. Her training took her to a collegiate level at Miami University where her team placed in the top ten in the nation for 3 consecutive years at NDA College Nationals. She went on to graduate as a two-time All-American. Today, Mollie enjoys taking classes from top choreographers in the industry to bring fresh and creative ideas to Cincy Dance Studio and the Cincy STARS where she will begin her 4th year of teaching. She brings an upbeat and high energy attitude to the studio and challenges students to push themselves in every class.
Alexandria Wright – Instructor
Alexandria Wright grew up in Bel Air, Maryland where she began dancing at the age of five. She began her dance training at County Ballet, a small studio in her hometown. She then attended The Baltimore School for the Arts, for high school as a Dance Major. Throughout high school and college Alexandria attended various summer programs, including Anaheim Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Cincinnati Ballet. She moved to Cincinnati in 2015 to attend the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati as a Ballet Major. She graduated from the Ballet program with her BFA in December 2018 and will be going back to CCM in the fall to get her master’s degree in Arts Administration.
